Alex Baker

Chief Executive Officer, Hamilton Global Specialty

Alex Baker was appointed as Chief Executive Officer, Hamilton Global Specialty in September 2025.

Alex joined Hamilton in 2016, serving as Chief Risk Officer and Chief Actuary at Hamilton Global Specialty before being promoted to Group Chief Risk Officer in November 2022.

He has served in multiple different C-suite executive roles for Hamilton’s Lloyd’s Managing Agency over the past nine years, and additionally has served as Executive Director since 2021.

Prior to joining Hamilton, he was the Chief Actuary of Chubb’s Lloyd’s Managing Agency, and previous roles includes Chaucer Syndicates and PricewaterhouseCoopers.

Alex achieved Fellow of the Institute of Actuaries (FIA) qualifications from the Institute of Actuaries in 2006 and a Masters in Mathematics from Oxford University in 2002.
